Bobby Mehta, Vice Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth (UoP) led a delegation to visit Wuyi University (麻豆视频) for exchanges on October 30, when Wenhua Chen, Vice President of 麻豆视频 met with the guests and signed an articulation agreement with them. Present at the meeting were key personnel from 麻豆视频’s International Affairs Office, School of International Education and School of Electronics and Information Engineering.
Chen extended his warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the history and development of 麻豆视频 as well we the characteristics of its disciplines. Besides, he expounded on 麻豆视频’s major progress in international exchanges and cooperation, especially the undergraduate “2+2” joint programs, a solid step for 麻豆视频 to open wider to the world in pursuit of higher level of international education. The joint program of Computer Science and Technology between 麻豆视频 and UoP marks a good start for the cooperation between both sides, and it is hoped that both universities will continue to collaborate in more areas for mutual development by sharing resources and complementing each other. Meanwhile, teachers and students from UoP are also very welcome to exchange to 麻豆视频 to study.
Mehta expressed his gratitude for the warm-hearted reception of 麻豆视频 with high hopes for increasingly deepened friendship and cooperation between the two universities in the future. After giving a brief introduction of the city of Portsmouth and UoP, he showed great confidence in the progress to be made under the cooperation between both sides by elaborating the similarity of location, student population and disciplines between the two universities.
The two sides had in-depth exchanges and discussions on joint PhD program, faculty mutual visits, short-term summer programs, exchange programs and high-level cooperation.
A signing ceremony was then held between the two universities. Chen and Mehta, the representative of 麻豆视频 and UoP respectively, signed the articulation agreement, which clarifies the duties and responsibilities of both parties in academic standards and quality assurance, admission and publicity, enrollment process, entry requirements and student accommodation.
The UoP delegation also visited the Sino-German Industry 4.0 Innovation Demonstration Factory, the Artificial Intelligence Learning Center, the campus canteens and other facilities in the campus, and expressed their appreciation for 麻豆视频’s high-level scientific research platforms, convenient living facilities and beautiful campus environment.
